Now, if only it could be hired out at a sufficiently remunerative rate to cover the costs of financing and operation and still be profitable at say, 5% it could form the basis for financing the Club Purchasing on the grounds of sentimentality alone....hmmm, I just baulked at (but paid) 50GBP for the 1971 Catweazle Album, so I don't think I'm in the market! Would rather throw in more substantial money to purchase Home Farm if we could prove a business case, but that's just equally or more parked in the lot of the fantastic!

The ultimate fanboy or fangirl collectible but as a non-driver probably a bit big for the living room... Incidentally, Mrs Derringer’s sports car was a Triumph TR6 (registration number PRW 741G), manufactured in 1969 and first registered in April of that year.

Correct! Alan - and it's a beaut! I have the info and the photos, which I will piece together. I know of one classic car buff, but this one doesn't need "doing up" so probably not for them.

The club couldn't raise £22 let alone £22,000. That's without MOT, tax, insurance, petrol, and somewhere to keep it! I have Catweale's costume and Adamcos and that means more to me than anything, (mind you I wouldn't say no to the car, even though I can't drive anymore.) LOL

I'm impressed that the owner is still in touch with the Club and was kind enough to allow members what I'm taking to be a 'first look': its very thoughtful, although I guess also clear that it might hold some extra realiable value for Club members - perhaps I will say Carol that I'm awed that you have both Adamcos and Catweazle's garb: they seem like close to the ultimate relics to me, except maybe, if it existed, the whole of Castle Saburac (internal wall jottings intact), or originals of Richard's first script drafts - including his online for series three.

Car washing on the inside only, I presume? ;-)
Too bad I'm neither a car nut nor that wealthy. But it seems to be a once in a lifetime offer. Hats off once again for Carol!

It is in super condition. Some of you may remember we managed to get this car to appear at one of our weekends... It was at the 2009 event... I love the TR6 and seriously looked at buying one many years ago. £22,500 seems a fair price if it is in good condition but sadly I would have to sell both my current cars to buy it.

Great photos, Ian. Thank you for sharing. Absolutely seconded! Love the photos Ian. The car seems to be quite or even very good condition. So incredible to me that the connect to the program and its fan base has been maintained

We don't do things by half you know! We got Groomes Lawnmower (which nearly killed me!) and we had the hot air balloon on display and inflated. We also had Matt bring in Carrots telescope and the two headed Cernunnos, both of course from the series. I visited and contacted Halliford Studios, but I was told there were no props left of any of the series. No stone has been unturned. The only thing I know WAS around was the record where Geoffrey was singing the song. Geoffrey had a copy, but I think he lent it to someone and never got it back! Such a shame because that would have been a GREAT addition for fans. many weren't even aware it was recorded. We hunted high and low in Geoffrey's attic, but sadly it was not there. As I have said, anything that could have been done, was done. The only other thing we tried to find, but couldn't get hold of were the landrover and Sams car. The landrover was still in service but we couldn't locate it. But considering we started with nothing at all, we are very proud of what we did manage, to research and find.

It's great that the TR6 owner has kept in touch. I haven't seen the car for sale in any of the usual places so it seems he offered it to the Catweazle fan base first, which is very thoughtful.
Sam's car "CPF106" was a Vauxhall Cabriolet, registered in Surrey in 1935. It isn't currently in the DVLA database in the UK on that registration number. It is possible that it is in a barn somewhere waiting to be discovered or it may have been exported. If it has survived it would be would be worth a bit more today than the "ten quid" Sam paid for it.
Mr Bennet's 1958 Land Rover "UFK225" is still registered for road use, currently taxed to September. This must be the holy grail of Catweazle memorablia!
(In 1982 I bought an identical Land Rover - series 2, short wheelbase, full canvas tilt - and spent a glorious summer driving around like Bud Tingwell. Sadly the expense of running it proved too much and I traded it in the following year).
