Dutch factory Monty Gum based in the ancient city of Leiden produced a lot of collectable gum cards over the years. TV series like The Persuaders!, The Six Million Dollar Man, Space: 1999, UFO, Kojak, Starsky & Hutch and The Bionic Woman are examples of these cards.
There were 80 cards of Catweazle, a description can be found here as well as the display box and the wrapper.

Judging from the wrapper that has text in English, German and Italian on the back, Catweazle was popular in Italy as well.

Hello Danny and Alan. About 10 years ago I was able to buy a complete set. They were 1 euro a piece. I'm glad I bought the set because I've never seen the cards since. If you like I could make a pdf-scan of the cards and mail it to you Alan. Perhaps it's nice to show them on the fanclub site.

Hello Sermon,
I have a couple of these packs unopened in my collection (I sold a couple at one of our Catweazle weekends once) and was offered a set some years ago, but they were too expensive for me to buy. In fact it could of been the same set that you have as it was about the same time. If you are able to scan them, I would love a set to put on display at the 50th anniversary if you wouldn't mind. It will be nice to have different things from different countries at the 50th because it was a world wide series and we would like to certainly celebrate that fact. I have the British set and I think generally they are the same pictures with some exceptions. Any reproduced merchandise from any country would be very well received from any one. So anyone that thinks they have something of interest that they would like to put on display (we hope to use display cabinets for the purpose) Reproductions or copies would be just as good as we appreciate that people would not want to risk damage or even theft of their precious items)
If you can send a file to me Sermon that would be great. You have my email address. - thank you

Sorry, just seen this (been quite out of the loop for quite a while). I scanned every one of these cards for the 40th anniversary DVD galleries and photographed the counter display box from all angles x

I am still trying to complete my Catweazle set. If someone likes to trade some cards, please send me a message. Also can someone confirm that each wrapper contained just one card (and one piece of gum of course)?

Maybe a little comfort for at least Dutch Catweazlians would be Peter den Blauwen, Papieren en kartonnen helden part 2, ISBN 9789464353259 published in 2021. All Catweazle Monty Gum trading cards are depicted - in smaller format - on pages 189 through 193.
At some 60 Euros the book doesn't come cheap, but it's no less than 466 pages and contains a lot of information, especially on trading cards and other 'flat' collectibles: Barend de Beer, Pipo de Clown, Swiebertje, Flipje, Floris, James Bond, Wacky Races, Daktari, The Munsters, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Catweazle, The Saint, The Persuaders, The Monkees, Star Trek, The Beatles, Huck Finn, Please Sir, The Partridge Family, De Wrekers, Zorro, Mork & Mindy, Alf, De Fabeltjeskrant, Flipper, Barretta, Charlie’s Angels, Back to the Future.
