At bol.com (a Dutch kind of Ebay) I came across the following e-book: Sophia von Sawilski, Frequency Study Guide Catweazle (ISBN 9781716231469), published in 2021,
with the following summary:
"Including questions on both comprehension and inference leading up to several assignment questions designed to draw out an extended response from your student. Frequency Study Guide Carpenter’s, Catweazle is the equivalent of a Unit of Work about the Stages of the Sequence of Events in the novel, Catweazle and is designed to be used in conjunction with the novel for a student to arrive at a deeper understanding and appreciation of Richard Carpenter’s celebrated novel, Catweazle. Join in to explore the concepts within the themes of Catweazle. Have fun developing communication skills such as reading and writing skills by reconstructing the language of the novel Catweazle. The novel itself is aimed at years three to four but can also be used as English as a Second Language; language skill exploration and strengthening exercise."
Does anyone of you know this book?

I've not heard of it. I wonder if the Richard Carpenter Estate is aware of it?

Again, its apparent to me that the legacy/afterglow of Catweazle is stronger in the Netherlands than the UK. That this should be a cogent choice for this type of study aid says a lot about how the author expects Dutch children to relate to the subject material - and it was only published 3 years ago Btw, overnight I order the 1971 Catweazle Annual. I've ended up paying almost $100AUD for it (including delivery), but, given its an original, I thought it would make a nice momento and give me a little bit more of a stake in the history of the program Do you think that there's a possibility of copyright infringement here Alan, or do you just think that they would be immensely curious? (or both?)

I wasn't suggesting copyright infringement, but of course that is a possibility if the book reprints extracts of Richard Carpenter's books. I guess permission would be needed from the estate or the original publishers for that sort of thing.

I ordered the ebook and hope to be able to give you a written impression in the not too far future.

Indeed - its extremely cheap too, but, cost per page is possibly still questionable!

That's not a book. It's an essay. I wouldn't have the nerve to ask people to buy that...

I didn't mean to convince people to buy anything, I just wanted to share what I came across. My copy has 33 pages, though, but mayhap that's a matter of layout. Doesn't look too in-depth indeed. Looks like material for a Catweazle-quiz. But you never know what you get before you try it. For 1,5 pound I took the gamble. Sorry...

Nothing to apologise for. I meant it was a nerve for the author to issue what looks like a book but in reality is an essay. I wasn't suggesting that you shouldn't have highlighted it here. All good.

The same author has other "frequency guides", I suspect they are created by AI.

AI appears to be great for some things (medical checks, research, etc), but writing ain't one of 'em. All the best, AI AL

I remain curious as to what it consists of A very curious context for Catweazle to have been invoked in, but it seems that the 'Catweazle' brand can be used to see much (maybe in particular if it has a ring of the obscure about it?) in the Netherlands!
