I'm guessing we all have the dvd's from Network. I think I still have the series 1 and 2 sets somewhere but I got the Complete series set too although offhand I can't recall why. I think it has some additional extras but I'm not sure.
Was it my imagination? When Network first announced the complete series set I'm almost certain that one of the exclusives they promised was a slightly extended version of "Brothers In Magic". However, when the official release was later announced it wasn't mentioned and BIM is the same length on the complete series as it is on series 1. Anyone else remember this or know why it never appeared?

Could anyone shed light on which year and the approximate part of that year the commentaries on the 5 disc box set were recorded? I was curious how long before Robin's passing.

The Brothers in Magic documentary was shot in 1998 and the commentaries were 2005 and 2007 for the second series.

I knew the box set was to commemorate 40 years being released in 2010 but thought the commentaries had to be well before then due to Robin's health. Thank you for verifying.

Disappointing that like most of Networks dvd's and specially those of ITV 16mm the quality is very poor. Until Network showed what was possible with 16mm when they did The Professionals on Bluray all releases of 16mm shows like Black Beauty, Follyfoot, Flambards etc were universally terrible.
While no restoration cleanup has been done the HD versions on Britbox are way ahead of the dvd's and have finally enabled me to create my own Bluray set. If Network could do a Professionals level restoration on Catweazle it would be amazing

I heard recently that Network went into administration. I haven't searched on line for more details other than someone uploading a short on YouTube.

Yes, Network are sadly no more. A great shame - and doubly tragic as it comes barely six months after the death of its founder and main driver Tim Beddows.
I suggest anyone who is after Catweazle on DVD acts now and buys before the prices go through the roof, as is sadly inevitable these days.

Where would you suggest the best outlet for folk to purchase the Catweazle DVD? I know Amazon UK sells the 5 disc dvd set from NETWORK, which has both series 1 and 2 plus lots of extras including a comemarative booklet. Click the link below 👇 Catweazle DVD

I'd recommend they check ebay or do a 'shopping' search on Google. I see Amazon is selling for £27.49. Saw one for £18 on ebay the other day...

There's one on ebay now at 24.99 brand new sealed network 5 disc with booklet. There are others but not the network 5 disc version... ... and of course, there are pre-owned/used copies, but you takes your chances with that.

I was hoping they would put in back on TV some time again since the last episodes aired. We can get Channel 82 (Talking Pictures TV) where believe Catweazle aired a year or two ago but as much as hoping to see it back on, they haven't shown it again. This is a shame.
We don't have all those fancy channels and downloads like Netflix where you can maybe see it again. In truth I realise you can see the show and episodes on DVD (or is Blueray now, time moves too quickly for some ages) but I've never really had the inclination or desire to go out and make a purchase. I don't use Ebay or Amazon for purchases it should be noted.
Think now that will have to change. I can't see them (TPTV or any other channel) putting it back on Free to Air TV anytime soon so that only leaves going out (store retailer) and making a purchase of the series on laserdisc. I don't worry too much about cost, so long as I'm in possession of the episodes that I can watch time and again whenever I choose to play them. Haven't seen the series from the very start, caught the first series on TPTV about two thirds of the way through when it was on and most of the second series until the end but now think, I'd like to make the effort to see it again from the start and take it all in to gain a better understanding of the series that (I) already possess or can attest to.

It might be worth contacting Talking Pictures and asking them whether they have plans on showing the series again. Have you been on their website as they do have an address to email them?

IIRC Talking Pictures have previously said that when they buy ITV TV shows to screen they can show those series in full three times. I think Catweazle has now been on TPTV three times, so I think they'd need to renegotiate if they wish to screen it again.
The best option is the DVD (there is no Blu-ray release, ca75) and sadly ebay is your best option for this these days. If you don't use ebay then perhaps you could ask someone you know to order it for you on your behalf?
