In the Series 1 episode The Witching Hour, we see Sam and Carrot in the tractor, by a long high red brick wall, as they block Mrs Bonnington's way. This location is currently unidentified, but could have possibly have been filmed on Back Lane, East Clandon, and things have changed since the time of filming. I also wonder whether it might have been in the East Horsley area? Can we work out whether this is the case, I wonder? Are there any clues in the footage? It would make sense that this location was within easy reach of the farm as vehicles like the tractor needed to be there... What do you think? Here are some images from the episode which show the location: And is this the same road, shot from the far end, back towards the wall? (Think I can spot the wall as the camera zooms to Sam.) Finally, have any locals been asked about the 'missing' locations?

This is a mystery because Back Lane was indeed used at some point but not on this scene I don't think. My theory is that it might and I say might because the wall I refer to still looks in pretty good condition, be along from Boldermere Lake.
Take a left out of the car park at the lake and travel along Old Lane and you will come across a high wall on the right which looks like it. It also has an entrance on the left that they could have turned into as they of course to let Mrs Bonnington pass.
As I say this is speculation as it doesn't have this location on the call sheets, but it is feasible because it is near another location and they would have had to pass it. With regard to its condition, I suppose it could have been rebuilt at some point. Take a look next time you go along there. I look at it each time and say " I wonder!" It's finding what happened to the areas next to it that may hold the key.

Hi Alan,
Over the years I too have searched for the wall. I looked at all roads and lanes but the location near Boldermere lake may be the answer?
We'll keep looking to confirm this.

This is definately Old Lane near the lake car park. Obviously the surroundings have changed and the wall itself has been spruced up but you can tell it's the same place.

I’ve just realised that this wall also featured in the Magic Face episode.
